About the Event

The event “Strengthening EU health responses in times of global health threats. From Bremen 2007 through COVID19 crisis and beyond” will involve representatives from regional, national, European and international authorities and institutions. Now is a crucial moment in history to take stock of the various concrete strategies initiated by the world’s leaders to respond to the COVID-19 crisis and to anticipate for the next health crisis. We will take the timeline between the past and current German Presidencies to the European Council and will debate the progress done in the European health policies, identify the gaps and the opportunities for a closer cooperation. Today better than ever we see that the time has arrived for Europe to play a more important role in the Global Health.

The event will contribute to the reflection process on how this could be implemented always keeping the person in the center of the policy. The participants will also debate on how different stakeholders could contribute to a better health crisis management at local and global levels.
